Lead Support Worker

The role of the Lead Support Worker will be to support the person we support to develop the skills that will help him to live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life rich in meaningful relationships and meaningful occupation whether this is in their own home, in the community, or in their family setting. As Lead Support Worker, you will also work in partnership with the Locality Manager/Assistant Locality Manager/Individual's Family to ensure that the team of support workers deliver the support required for the person we support, in accordance with their support plan.
The Lead Support Worker will spend the majority of their time providing 1 to 1 support, but also some time working directly with the other members of the team as well as completing administrative tasks required of the role, including rota management and quality monitoring.
We provide support to this individual 24 hours a day, and therefore we are looking for someone who is able to work shifts on a rota basis. For this role, there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to complete sleep-in duties when required, as this forms part of the support we provide.

Supporting the person we support to develop their social communication skills and problem solving skills around making decisions
Supporting the person we support in accessing social opportunities and accessing the community
Supporting the person we support in achieving good emotional, mental and physical health. Where appropriate implementing therapeutic interventions to meet these goals.
Supporting the person we support with personal care/eating and drinking/aspects of running and maintaining a home.
Contributing, alongside others, in developing support plan's and other specialist care plans
Working in partnership with the person we support's family and with other specialist professionals involved in their care and support, to ensure the Team has up to date guidance and necessary training.
Working with the other members of the Team (individually or in a group) to ensure that they are providing good quality support on a day to day basis through the on-going training and guidance they receive.
